Ilinca N., Year 7

They’d tell the secrets of the past,

The secrets of those who came and went,

The secrets we thought will last but passed fast,

The time we cried, the time we spent.

If the walls could speak,

They will blow away the tears,

They would hear every little squeak,

They would know everybody’s fears.

The old walls would tell you the stories,

They would speak through their small cracks,

In all the kinds of voices,

The walls would teach us hacks.

If the walls could speak…

Would they talk to themselves?

What tone would they pick?

Well, you should find that yourself!

If the walls could speak,

They would remember the beautiful memories.

They would tell you what to pick

And all your life stories.

If the walls would speak today

They would say:

“Though people change and years move on,

A part of everyone remains here”.
